Workshop: Language and Genders, an Artistic Approach

This work­shop is an intro­duc­tion to the field of lan­guage, tex­tua­li­ty, and lin­gu­i­stics in cul­tu­ral pro­duc­tion through the prism of gen­ders and sexua­li­ties. In a clo­sed ses­si­on, we will explo­re art­works (per­for­mance, film, street art, music) and cul­tu­ral pro­ducts like que­er slangs through such tac­tics as appro­pria­ti­on, reclai­ming, and resi­gni­fy­ing. We will play with words and tog­e­ther crea­te empowe­ring terms using humour and comradery.
